Description

From 1898 to 1933, the Netherlands minted a considerable amount of 5 and 10 gulden gold coins, which functioned as circulating gold coins. These coins, minted during the reigns of Queen Wilhelmina and William III, were made of a robust 900 gold alloy.

The gold gulden from the Netherlands were minted on a large scale as circulation coins from 1818 and are traded today in bankable condition as investment coins. The coins depict either the rulers Willem I, Willem II or Willem III. The gold coins were minted under Wilhelmina’s reign from 1898 to 1933.

Before the introduction of the euro, the gulden was the official currency of the Netherlands. Wilhelmina’s gold coins were minted by the Royal Dutch Mint and four different designs of the 10 gulden coin are available.
