Description
The American Eagle silver coin has been issued by the United States Mint as a bullion coin since 1986. For its 35th anniversary in 2021, the popular coin has a new design and is also known as the American Eagle Type 2.
The American Eagle represents all the pride of the Americans on one coin. The tails side shows the American national symbol – the bald eagle. The eagle is depicted landing. It holds an oak branch in its talons, as if it wants to use it to build its nest. To the right of the eagle is the saying ‘E Pluribus Unum’, which means ‘out of many, one’.
The design side of the precious metal coin shows Lady Liberty. The lady is depicted with a flowing dress and olive branches in her left hand. A waving American flag and a sunrise can be seen in the background. The American motto ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’ is embossed to the right of the figure. The image of Lady Liberty has remained unchanged since the year of issue 1986.
The American Eagle silver coin is one of the best-known bullion coins in the world. It is particularly popular in the United States of America as a silver investment for asset protection.
